October Exhibit at Crafts for Living
Features Glass Artists from the Region and Beyond
October 7 - November 11, 2006
Crafts for Living proudly announces its October exhibit featuring more than 15 glass artists from the region and beyond. GLASS: FUNCTION and FASHION opens October 7 and runs through November 11. The public is invited to a reception with many of the artists attending, on October 14, from 3 - 7PM. The gallery will also welcome Philadelphia Open Studio Tours (POST) visitors on October 7 and 8.
Glass artists have been asked to show functional work in blown, lampworked or cast glass. Participants include Elio Quarisa from Italy, Bandu Dunham from Arizona, Stephianie Sersich from Maine, Laurie Thal from Wyoming and Mile Van Renssaeler who is local and many others. The show is curated by local glass artists and teachers, Scott and Patricia Wolfson.
Crafts for Living Gallery and Workshop, located at Sherman Mills at East Falls, is entering its third year as a non-profit organization dedicated to craft arts and craft artists.
A combination of community craft center, workshop and gallery, Crafts for Living is a welcoming environment where the public can make and learn about crafts: where talented artists show their work and teach: and where secondary school children learn useable skills and learn to do things that are no longer taught in most schools.
Gallery hours are Tuesday - Friday, 10am - 5pm and Saturday from noon - 4pm. Pease call for more information. The telephone number is 215-844-7500.
