Mike Zerbe has been a potter for over thirty years. Currently he is interested in combining elaborate decorative elements and textures with traditional functional forms in ways which make the decoration an integral part of the form.
Associated for many years with The Clay Studio in Old City Philadelphia, he has exhibited there and at other venues throughout the city and southern New Jersey. Mike established his own studio at Sherman Mills in September of 2004. He was recently selected to serve on the Sherman Mills Arts Council and chair the Grant Writing Committee.
In addition to making his own ceramic work, he teaches pottery at many locations throughout Philadelphia, including at senior centers, Friends of the Free Library programs and with The Clay Studio’s Claymobile program.
