Sherman Mills artist KATE KAMAN  is an emerging Philadelphia artist who creates large-scale sculpture and public installations. She says many of her works “create sweeping gestures and organic shapes that bring a feeling of nature and imagination into the built environment. Through site specificity, sculpture and architecture blend and are inseparable, rendering the viewing process an interactive experience.â€? She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts; has exhibited at the Philadelphia Flower Show, the Wayne Art Center and the Moore College of Art. Recently, Kate was awarded with a commission from the City of Philadelphia to complete a public work for the entranceways to the Dorothy Emanuel Recreation Center in Germantown. Her studio is at Sherman Mills in East Falls in Building 30 and more of her work can be seen at www.katekaman.com.
